The Catholic Newman Club at Robert Morris University is a faith-centered community dedicated to helping students grow spiritually, intellectually, and socially while living out the teachings of the Catholic Church on campus. Our mission is to provide a welcoming space where students can encounter Christ, deepen their understanding of the faith, and build meaningful friendships rooted in shared values. We strive to support students in living out their Catholic identity through prayer, fellowship, service, and formation. The Newman Club hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including Bible studies, faith discussions, social gatherings, service opportunities, and spiritual activities. Whether you are a lifelong Catholic, new to the faith, or simply curious, you are welcome here. Above all, we seek to glorify God and encourage students to live authentically as disciples of Christ during their time at RMU and beyond. All are welcome.

The Catholic Newman Club traces its roots back to the late nineteenth century and is named after St. John Henry Newman, a renowned theologian and educator who had a deep concern for the spiritual lives of students in higher education. Newman Clubs were originally established to support Catholic students attending colleges and universities where a Catholic presence or campus ministry was limited or nonexistent. The purpose of the Catholic Newman Club has always been to provide spiritual, social, and intellectual support for Catholic students. These clubs were created so students could continue practicing their faith, receive the sacraments, grow in their relationship with Christ, and build a strong sense of community during their college years. Over time, Newman Clubs also became centers for fellowship, service, and faith formation, welcoming students from all backgrounds. At Robert Morris University, the Catholic Newman Club was founded in 2010 to serve the spiritual needs of Catholic students on campus and to establish a supportive faith community rooted in the teachings of the Catholic Church. Today, the Catholic Newman Club at Robert Morris University continues this mission by fostering a vibrant Catholic presence on campus and guiding students as they grow in faith, friendship, and service to Christ and His Church.
